Anopheles sinensis is an important malaria vector in Southeast Asia, and the emergence of insecticide resistance in this mosquito species poses a serious threat to the efficacy of malaria control measures, particularly in China and Korea. The molecular mechanism of insecticide resistance and resistance surveillance are basic requirement for resistance management. To further extend our understanding on resistance mechanism and facilitate the implementation of resistance management strategies for mosquito vector control programs, a bioinformatics database named An. sinensis genome database (ASGDB) was developed.

High-quality draft genome sequence integrated with insecticide resistant related literatures, ASGDB provides following datasets:(i) An. sinensis genome database:Whole Genome project has been deposited at DDBJ/EMBL/GenBank under the accession ATLV00000000. The version described in this database is version ATLV01000000. JBrowse enables the users easily browse and search the interest gene in a graphic interface. Diverse search options have been designed and integrated into this database, which made it easy for users to obtain data. ASGDB also provides extensible analytical platform including orthologous relationship analysis, gene ontology (GO) analysis and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway analysis. (ii) Detoxification supergene families analysis:ASGDB provides the identification, classification and comparison of three detoxification supergene families (cytochrome P450 monooxygenases, glutathione S-transferases, and carboxyl/cholin esterases) in An. sinensis and other three major mosquito vectors of human diseases (An. gambiae, Aedes aegypti and Culex quinquefasciatus) and Drosophila melanogaster. (iii) The insecticide-resistance phenotyping and genotyping data in An. sinensis in China region has been collected and displayed in the section “Resistance surveillance”. Most of these data were collected from published articles. A few unpublished data provided by researchers from the community were also integrated into database. ASGDB also encourages broad participation getting involved in knowledge curation, which not only increases knowledge coverage and keeps knowledge up-to-date, but also improves knowledge accuracy. ASGDB will be continuously updated with new information.
